Mechanical Maintenance Manager – South of Johannesburg

Utilise your B Engineering (Mechanical) degree and 10+ years experience in the steel and or wire production sector to plan, direct and control cost effective mechanical maintenance activities to ensure optimal plant availability and maximum production. Manage and lead large and experienced technical teams of different disciplines (boilermakers, fitters and turners, millwrights and plumbers).

Location: South of Johannesburg
Purpose: To ensure optimal production output by effectively managing the diverse components of this mechanical and electrical production plant which runs a 24 / 7 cycle. Proof you capability to manage equipment ranging from old to current high tech used in this multi-component and multi product steel production. Enjoy managing the team of 50+ people. Manage the maintenance budget optimally to maximise production results. Ensure compliance to OHS Act and ISO 9002 standards.
Salary: R1 m total cost to company per annum, negotiable and structured

Minimum requirements: Completed B Sc Mechanical Engineering degree PLUS at least 10 years’ experience gained in a steel and or wire production factory, manufacturing multiple products.
Additional comments:

Experience in the maintenance and management of a large number of machines in an extensive process driven production process (hot works) environment is essential, specifically steel and or wire drawing productions and installations. Experience gained both mechanical and electrical disciplines and knowledge and experience in gas and steam fired equipment, hydraulics, pneumatics, cooling processes, galvanising lines etc is required.
